Getting Started
You decide what badge you want to do under the above headings. Go to your Scouter and they will help you draw up your project. Your Scouter will help you to fill out a template which will say you will do and the steps needed to achieve it. You must also say what you hope to achieve when finished. You must also think about what Personal Challenges you will achieve while doing your Special Interest Badge. Your Scouter will appoint a mentor who will help and encourage you while you are working on your Special Interest Badge. Mentors can be older Scouts, parents, other Scouters.
Here are some questions that you should ask yourself when you are planning your Special Interest Badge:
What Special Interest Area will I choose?
What am I going to do?
What steps do I need to take to do this?
How long will it take me?
Where will I do it?
Do I need any equipment or adult help?
how will I know that I have achieved what I set out to do?
While doing your Special Interest Badge you should look back on your template to see if you are doing what you set out to do. See if you need to change anything, see if your Personal Challenges have changed while you are working on your Special Interest badge and make sure that you have given yourself enough time to complete Always remember
