Dear Module Maker or Student:

Thank you for your interest in making MODULES IN MEDICINE. A TEMPLATE or SAMPLE is provided to make your task easy.

1. Just change the name of the HEALTH PROBLEM. Examples of health problems: HEADACHE, BURNS, DYSPNEA, PALLOR, DYSURIA, etc.

2. Practically, what you are going to SUPPLY for the completion of a MODULE are just the following:

1. Patient simulations or hypothetical patients

2. Clinical abstracts

3. Specific clinical competencies

4. Biological foundation and basis of clinical management

5. Evaluation

I shall guide and help you as you go along. When you make the MODULES IN MEDICINE, have in mind the contribution you will be giving to the development of effective, efficient, and humane physicians and in turn, to the health development of the country.

A primary health care physician must be able to answer the questions and accomplish the tasks listed below:

THE ENTRIES HERE WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE STUDENT WITH THE HELP OF A FACULTY.

INSTRUCTIONS TO THE MODULE MAKER OR STUDENT –

Write down questions and tasks using the guidelines included in the INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN part of this module.

Be specific as possible.

Avoid using the word DISCUSS unless the thing to discuss is very specific.

Have a basic physician in mind, not a specialist.

EVALUATION

INSTRUCTIONS TO MODULE MAKER OR STUDENT –

Construct test questions –

at least one for each of the objectives listed down in the –

• CLINICAL COMPETENCY

• BIOLOGICAL FOUNDATION AND BASIS

For the CLINICAL COMPETENCY part –

• construct test questions for a written examination using OSCPE – objective structured clinical practical exam

• construct questions for a written examination using

  • PMP – patient management problems or

  • SMP – sequential management problems

For the BIOLOGICAL FOUNDATION part –

construct test questions for a written examination using

• objective questions (preferred) or / in combination with

• matching type questions

• multiple response questions

• restricted response essay questions
