Motion by Paul, 2nd by Jarod to approve the Treasurers report as given. Approved by unanimous vote.

a. Credit Card. Visa Community Card through River Valley Bank. Noel and Gary each have one to make purchases. Get 1% back on all purchases made.

b. Concessions. Concession stand made $60.00 selling candy bars, chips, pop & water. We gave out $20.00 in pop and candy bars to school groups as prizes. Lost about $20.00 in candy & pop due to break-in in April.

c. Amazon Smile Program. CCCC get percentage of all purchases made by individuals using the Smile program. This can be used by Club members on any personal purchases and who indicate online to support CCCC. The shopping experience is the same. CCCC gets reimbursed quarterly by check.

5. CERTIFICATIONS

A. No new instructor certifications (there was none given within driving distance for Level I). Per Gordon, the certifications are given by request to the USCA. If we request one locally (Wisconsin, Michigan) than they may schedule one closer to our area.

B. Online Safesport Courses are required for all instructors and Board Members. There are 3 segments of 60-90 minutes each. Board Members are required as they are leaders of the organization. As required by USA Curling and Safesport the CCCC has adopted the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy.

II. NEW BUSINESS

1. BYLAW CHANGES

a. Updates were made by the Board and sent to all Members to review prior to the Annual Meeting for review. Discussion was held. It was suggested to add Non- Discriminating Clause to section 3.0. There may be additional additions to the Safesport Certifications coming later this year. Motion by Brett, 2nd by Gordon to approve changes to By-laws. Vote: Unanimous in favor of approval.

2. IMPROVEMENTS AND PROJECTS

a. Inline water filter system (DE-ionizing system). Gary spoke with Culligan and Swick for estimates. Best estimate for purchase was $6000.00; renting $550.00/month. Can we rent for 1 month, then purchase?. Discussion on adding refrigeration. Can we use pads on top of ice and compressors enabling Club to curl longer (November thru April)? This may increase dues and possibly lose members. Paul & Gordon suggested to table any purchase and have the Board investigate the costs, benefits & disadvantages of water filtration system.

b. Repair peeling paint – Gordon. This may have been caused by polished surface of concrete and paint not bonding to surface. Surface needs to be sand-blasted and re- painted. The cracks in the concrete & any maintenance of the curling area should be repaired before re-painting is done.

c. Paint Window Areas: Jarod & Louie are looking into colors and will be doing the work this summer.

d. Security Cameras: Gary. Have ordered 4 Wyze brand security cameras (recommended by Alex): 1 for entry way, 2 for large area in Township area, 1 for warm room. Will need to keep Wi-Fi on year- round for recording. High quality video is stored on the Company’s cloud for 14 days, so someone will need to check Curling Club every 14 days to ensure that if there is a break-in, we will have the tapes available. Question came up on insuring the CCCC property (currently we have no insurance on our equipment, supplies, etc). What would the cost be?

e. Better signage needed. Gary and Lee are looking into.

I. Large lighted sign below eave, visible from road (see photos from 2018)

II. Signage on Red Jacket Rd to turn traffic alongside Colosseum.

f. Second Bathroom. Gary. Calumet Township will be putting in 2nd bathroom this summer, and is asking the Club to make a donation. No action taken.

g. Other improvement ideas. Suggested to put tape on edges of ramp so people do not fall off. Louie will do.

3. ITEMS NEEDED FOR CLUB:

a. Pizza stone to use on Grill?

b. No other suggestions.

4. COPPER SPIEL BONSPIEL – Drew. Other clubs are seem very interested as our club has been going to more Bonspiels, have about 20 teams interested in attending. Chairpersons: Drew, Jarod, Eric, Brett.

III. ELECTIONS

1. C.C.C.C. Board Members (3-year terms) 2 terms up (Louie, Alex) Neither want to continue on Board.

a. Floor Nominations – Lee Peterson, Drew Grohowski

b. Paul made motion, Gordon 2nd to vote. All approved of new Board members.

2. Great Lakes Curling Association (1 year term, 1 seat)
