This is a long-term, research-driven program designed to help undergraduate students focus on topics in Geometry and/or Analysis.
Students are expected to
learn Geometry (curves, surfaces, manifold, covariant derivative, curvature, etc.)
learn one of the following
Analysis (basic functional analysis including compact linear operators), PDE (elliptic equation and regularity theory)
Data manifold (manifold learning, embeddings, manifold fitting, local regression)
participate in the seminar for at least 2 semesters (with credits or not) and be a helper of new students
be eager to solve problems and share ideas with others
Students in this program will probably receive financial support and have the opportunity to obtain stronger recommendation letters based on their efforts.
