At 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to the 200-block of Marquette for the report of a Domestic Assault in progress. En route, officers were advised that the suspect was holding a box cutter to his wife’s throat, but had left the home by the time officers arrived. The woman told officers that her husband was angry that she would not give him a Welfare check; she did not want to turn over the check because he was supposed to check into a rehab center in the morning, and she feared he would buy drugs with the money. Police located the man and arrested him for Aggravated Domestic Assault.
