City police were called to 1100 block of Bingham shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday arriving to find a woman crying. The woman said she had been grabbed by the throat, thrown out of the house and locked out.

Officers later learned the woman had fought with the man at a downtown drinking establishment and returned home throwing his tools and belongings in the driveway before falling asleep. The man was evidently unhappy when he returned  home to find his property scattered outside and escorted her from the residence.

Blaine E. Thorogood of the Sault was arrested for domestic assault after police heard both versions of events; he was booked into the Chippewa County Jail.
