At 12:20 a.m. Friday, Sault Police were investigating a roll-over accident where the occupants had left the scene, near the Admiral Gas Station on W. Easterday Ave. While officers were waiting the tow truck to arrive, a heavily intoxicated man approached them and stated his friend was the owner and driver of the vehicle. Officers asked the Sault man how he got to the scene, and the man pointed to his vehicle then replied, “I wouldn’t have come down here if [I] was drunk.” After a number of failed sobriety tests, the man was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated and lodged in the Chippewa County Jail.
