These 10 sessions are regularly used by the club: Note that the session will vary from time to time depending on the annual cycle and whatever the coach of the week wants you to focus on.
Thornwell Loop – Threshold training
Elm Road – Speed/ Endurance
Danes Loop – Strength / Endurance
SB Hills – Strength and Speed/ Endurance
Link Road 400s – Speed /Endurance
Link Road 800s - Strength / Endurance
Fartlek - A period of steady running with random fast bursts of varying distances
Pyramid - Pace practise session over increasing distances , short to long and back again
Paarlauf - A two runner relay with one running and one recovering
400/800s - Laps of the track at a target pace with set recovery
The club uses 5k time bands to organise much of its training. There are 8 time bands , please ensure you are familiar with the one that applies to you so that you can run with members of a similar standard.
