In the interests of cost, the environment and the social aspects of Team Competition, we encourage car sharing - this is often arranged on Facebook (it seems to be the only practical way) in the week leading up to the race. The meeting point is usually at the far end of the car park at the Leisure Centre.

Men and women run together over the same course.
The league now uses chip timing and you need to register your interest in the competition by filling out an online form at least a week ahead of the race. This is so we can allocate you a chip/race number. If you are a new member joining after the fist race don't worry we can get you a number - just contact one of the club captains and they'll let you know what you have to do.

Both XC & Summer leagues join together to form a Combined Series If you've taken part before, you know what it's all about - if not, then come along and give it a try. There's a good team spirit, entry is FREE to members.

As well as the team element to these races there is good competition to be had as an individual in your age category, which are in 5 year age groups. NB: your age category is decided before the season starts & stays the same until the last race

The Gwent League (which is rarely in Gwent!) is a larger-scaled competition with clubs/ teams from across South Wales and the West. The quality at the front of the senior men's and women's races is of a very high standard. Don't let this put you off though, as the range of abilities is complete - with hundreds in each race you're very unlikely to finish last. The men generally have approximately 10km to cover, with the ladies normally about a 6km+ course.

Each event is held on a Saturday and consists of a number of races for different age groups - we take part in the Men's and Ladies' senior races, which usually appear at the end of the programme, and with the Junior section we will have runners in the earlier junior races.

We generally meet at the Leisure Centre to share cars, as the events are held over a wide range of locations - and it's always nice to try to engender team spirit. With the men and women running in separate races, there's good opportunity to cheer on your team mates from the sidelines! We take the club tent with us, to act as shelter and to provide changing.
