Club champs races 2019:
Jan – Sunday 13 Off-road
Riverbank Rollick (Thornbury)
This is a 9 mile (14km) race which is 80% off road, with 430ft (130m) of ascent and is on a mixture of trails, bridle paths, across fields and through woodland. It’s a great, fun event from our local, friendly running friends at Thornbury Running Club. Lots of mud and a stream wade to add interest. Very well organised with good cakes afterwards. Entries open in November and they have kindly said they’ll reserve 30 places for us as it sells out. I’ll let you know as soon as entries open.

Any half marathon
You can choose any half marathon in March.
Suggestions include Newport 3 Mar, Bath 17 Mar, FOD 24 Mar. Bath is the quickest if you want a fast time – it fills up so if you want to enter Bath, do so as soon as possible.

Sugarloaf fell race
Delightful and very scenic 7 mile fell race. 1725ft ascent, or 11.2km & 526m ascent. Worth a recce beforehand.

Berkeley 10k
Super, fast and flat race – one of the best courses to get a PB in the area (if not the UK!)

Run by Cadence Events (the same organisers that put on the Good Friday 10 mile road race we had in the champs in 2018)

Race the Train – Tywyn.
Great 14 mile off-road race with chance for the speedsters to try and beat the train – but loads of fun for all runners. A great race to make a weekend trip out of with your Harrier running mates. They have shorter races for those that don’t fancy the 14 miler (although you won’t score champs points for these) and the 3k would be suitable for kids if you want to make it a family affair.
Sept – Sun 01 Sept Road
Cardiff 10k
Great, fast, flat bit city 10k – excellent PB potential. Early bird entries close end of October so get your entries in now for reduced fee or you’ll end up paying an extra £3. https://www.cardiff10k.cymru/

Our friendly local club Forest of Dean put on this popular 5 mile off-road jaunt through the woods. Great atmosphere and fancy dress welcomed/encouraged.
