Snowflakes Everywhere - 1

Snowflakes to display at your windows and decorate your home

  • Celebrating the snow that will be with us soon. AND the 518 Snowflake Hunt

  • We have created a few snowflake inspired crafts - this is the first one

  • This one just needs one sheet of white paper, a pencil, scissors and glue

The Little Snowflake by Steve Metzger read aloud

Step by Step

  1. Start with a regular piece of paper and cut it into 3 equal width pieces, length ways. Cutting the page in half, length ways also works as we are only using 2 of the strips. Try it both ways and see which you like the most.

  2. Then carefully concertina fold both strips length ways.

  3. Next you need to design your snowflake. No 2 snowflakes are alike, but keep it simple and only cut on the sides and NOT all the way through.

If you keep the design simple and maybe add a point at the top this will be beautiful.

step 4

4. copy the design onto both folded pieces and carefully cut out your design, or ask a grownup to help you as this can be a little hard.

step 5

5. Pull your design apart and glue one to the other so your design repeats.

6. Glue them together to form a circle. Let the glue dry and then gently press the bottom part of your design inwards and glue the folds together to form the snowflake.

If you have time make lots of different designs and string them together or hand them from cotton at the window.
