Fall Fun - Flying Bat
More Crafty fun below.....
IF you grabbed at kit great
otherwise you will need a wooden clothes pin, markers and some glue
Print out the plan and create this beautiful flying bat.
If you did our butterfly Craft-a-Long its very similar.
If you didn't, and you have a few more clothes pins, check it out here
Step by Step
We are using the movement in the Clothes pin to create a moving, flying BAT!!
We are actually creating another simple machine - A lever
Color your bat
Cut it out carefully and the small rectangle below it
Fold the wings into the body along the dashed lines
4. Glue the rectangle to the end of the peg
5. Turn the peg over and bend the dashed ends of the strip of paper as shown
6. Glue the body of the Bat to the top of the peg. It should over shoot the peg and the bent rectangular strip should meet the middle of the wings
7. Pull the wings up together. Where the strip of paper meets the wings glue the tabs.
Wait for the glue to dry and then open and close the clothes peg
This is what it should look like from underneath I have used the butterfly image from one of our last craft-a-longs
This is where you should glue the tabs onto the wings
