Today is March 8, 2022; March 11, 2022; March 20, 2022; March 29, 2022; March 31, 2022
ON MARCH 31, 2022, there are now a total of 62 BSE Promoters and Practitioners. I have reached my target of 60.
The fund is P50,000. With 62 BSE Promoters and Practitioners eligible for P36,000, I have a balance of P14,000. I may extend the number to about 12 more Promoters and Practitioners who like to join this Incentive Awards. The last last deadline will be April 15, 2022.
Pls. see list of BSE Promoters and Practitioners in the lowest part of this webpage.
To qualify for the incentive award (cash award for those who have shown regularity in doing breast self-exam for at least 9 months before December 1, 2022), the participants must have accomplished the following:
- Submit an initial report card (DEADLINE: March 31, 2022) on performance of monthly breast self-examination (for the late comers, at the latest, the first BSE should be on March 31, 2022). The report card is to be submitted to the BSE Coordinators or Champions.
- Submit a first video on doing breast self-examination with clothes on and no face seen (at the latest March 31, 2022) to the BSE Coordinators or Champions.
Only those who have complied with the above requirements with DEADLINE on March 31, 2022 will be monitored monthly up to November 2022 for the incentive awards. Every month, there must be submission of an updated report card to the BSE Coordinators or Champions. The BSE Coordinators or Champions will update ROJoson on those who will continue to be eligible for the incentive awards on December 4, 2022 – the day of the awarding.
NOTES:
Cash award of P500 each will be only for those who have documented regularity in doing breast self-examination for at least 9 months before December 1, 2022 (March to November = 9 months).
The BSE Coordinators or Champions will receive P1000 each for promoting and advocating BSE.

I am officially launching the CCC Breast Self-Exam Club on January 15, 2022.
The primary objective of the Club is to promote early detection of breast cancers among Filipino women.
I have anonymous donors who believe in the cause and who have pledged P50,000 for the promoters, advocates and practitioners of Breast Self-Exam.
The first awarding will be on December 4, 2022 during the Cancer Crusaders Club Annual Get-Together.
See mechanics below.
ROJ@22jan11
Details of the Project Plan:
The Breast Self-Exam Club will be a project of the ROJoson Cancer Crusaders Club.
The objective of the Club is to promote / advocate the practice of a health habit called Regular BSE among Filipino women so that in case a breast cancer strikes, they will be able to catch it early enough and have it treated as soon as possible.
I will look for 10 Breast Cancer Crusaders from ROJoson Cancer Crusaders who will serve as Regular BSE Coordinators or Champions.
These 10 Regular BSE Coordinators / Champions will undergo orientation to the program and online training on BSE.
Then, they will recruit at least 5 Filipino women without history of breast cancer who are willing to join the Club (for free) and get all the benefits that the Club will offer.
The Regular BSE Coordinators / Champions will orient their recruits and teach them BSE.
Thereafter, the Regular BSE Coordinators /Champions will monitor the regular performance of their recruits (doing BSE regularly once a month) and the outcome (see below).
The project will run for 2 years (January 2022 to December 2023).
The target (key performance indicator for the project) is 60 members of the BSE club inclusive of the Coordinators / Champions who will be doing regular monthly BSE or who have developed the health habit of regular BSE for at least one year by December 2023. Secondary key performance indicator will be presence of members catching a breast cancer that may unfortunately develop, in early stage (not more than Stage 2 with size of the primary tumor being 5 cm or less).
Here are the detailed mechanics and incentives:
The members of the Regular BSE Club are obliged to do monthly BSE and report performance to the Regular BSE Coordinators / Champions through a report card and a submitted video every 3 months showing they have really performed BSE regularly and properly (the video will respect privacy – the BSE is done with a dress on, not nude and no identifying face). [See samples below.]
After 9-12 months, those who did their BSE monthly as documented in the report card and submitted videos will receive P500.00 cash award ( each or through a raffle giveaway, depending on the budget - P500 x 50 = P25,000.00 will be alloted).
On the 2nd year, 2023, those who did their BSE monthly for 21 to 24 months straight will receive P750.00 cash award, (each or through a raffle giveaway, depending on the budget - P750 x 50 = P37,500.00 will be alloted).
The Regular BSE Coordinators / Champions will receive incentive awards (P1000 each) if they are able to maintain the regular performance of their recruits - at least 5). [P1000.00 x 10 Champions = P10,000.00 will be alloted on the first year - 2022.]
In case a breast cancer develops during the period that a regular BSE is being done (hopefully none) and the breast cancer is caught in Stage 2 or earlier (Stage 1), the patient will receive a P5,000.00 award as Ayuda which she can use for her medical management. Only registered members and only those who have full documentation of doing monthly BSE for at least 6 months are qualified for this Ayuda. A total of P15,000.00 will be alloted for this medical assistance. If there are more than 3 members who unfortunately develop breast cancers, then the monetary medical assistance will be given through a raffle.
A member who stops doing regular breast self-examination can resume or rejoin anytime. The Coordinators / Champions should be informed formally. Eligibility for awards and monetary medical assistance will follow the prescribed duration of regular monthly performance of BSE.
WELCOME COMMENTS!

Samples of doing BSE in a post-mastectomy patient - steps different from those without breast cancer yet and without mastectomy operation. There is a need to examine the neck and the liver area in patient with established breast cancer. These are not done in persons with no breast cancer and have not undergone mastectomy operation.

Feedback: From Francis Tejones - March 20, 2022
Just to share Doc the experience during this BSE (Breast Self-Exam) training:
It was really a very good experience to teach especially to family members on how to do BSE - knowing that they will benefit from it We also had a lot a fun since we are family - no inhibitions and very free flowing session - meron pa kasama jokes and tawanan,
Thanks po Doc for making me one of your BSE Coordinators.
