Adding Slideshows & Gadgets

Slideshows and Photo Albums

Slideshows or photo albums can be easily added to your portfolio from within Google Sites. Of course, you can also link to videos and media from other sites, as well. For instance, you might have video recordings of your oral presentations in your Bush School classes. Consider how these might be used to effectively enhance your e-folio before you launch into the time-consuming task of creating new ones.

Slideshows

    1. Select the Insert tab upper left.

    2. Select "Document."

    3. Choose the slideshow you wish to display.

    4. Set the properties according to how you wish the slideshow to appear.

Photo Albums

    1. Select the Insert tab upper left.

    2. Select "Picasa photo" or "Picasa web slideshow."

    3. Choose the slideshow you wish to display.

    4. Set the properties according to how you wish the slideshow to appear (check "show photo captions").

    5. Make sure each slide has been properly labeled before selecting.

NOTE: Your slideshow will not be visible to viewers once you log out of Google UNLESS you make your slide show "public on the web." In Picassa, select the slideshow, the actions tab and album properties. Under "visibility," choose "public on the web." If you are using another photo-sharing program such as Facebook, Snapfish, Shutterfly, etc., you will likely need to make your albums viewable to the public if you want your portfolio viewers to see your slideshow.
