Troughs & Photography

Business Meeting and Program

Make a trough to hold your flowers at 4:30. Bring a bag lunch, a short business meeting and a terrific program on photographing your garden. An introduction to the basics, framing and composition, Carol Pike, Northfield, MA.

Design: An arrangement using budding branches – not to exceed 24” overall.

Miniature: A small design using budding branches – not to exceed 5” overall.

Annual Plant Sale

We need plants from your gardens to make this event a success. So dig up your plants and donate them to this terrific sale!

Set up Time: 6:00 a.m.

Preview of Plants: 8:00 – 8:30

Sale Time: 8:30 a.m. promptly

Floral Design

Becky Lucia from Floral Designs in Greenfield, MA. will be demonstrating and working with club members on basic floral arranging. We will be able to bring home our own arrangements.

Please bring flowers from your summer gardens, a container and clippers.

Becky will have containers you can purchase for $5.00

Dynamic Landscape

Late Bloomers

Dot from Dynamic Landscapes in Hinsdale will show us what plants we need to plant to have color throughout the entire summer. Then stop at Tasteful Affairs (dutch treat) for lemonade and cookies in Hinsdale for a short business meeting and a visit to Barbara Waldon’s gardens.

Ikebana Arrangements

Business Meeting and Program

Have you ever wanted to learn Ikebana – oriental flower arranging? This will be simple flower arranging with probably 2-3 flowers. Bring in your own flat rectangular, oval or round dish. If you have pin holders (which you can buy at Walmart), bring one. Gail Bartlett from Dublin, NH National Council Master Judge and Ikebana Instructor level 1 will lead us in this beautiful way of arranging flowers.

Fall Flower Arrangements and Pressed Flowers

Business meeting and Program

By popular demand Ellie Roden of Green Mountain Pressed Flowers in Wilmington, VT will teach us how to press flowers and make floral cards. She will have microwave presses available for purchase. Members will be asked to bring in flat leaf flowers like pansies, cosmos, and hydrangea. A list of flowers will be emailed to you before this meeting.

Arrangements: Bring in a container, clipper, greens and any flowers left in your gardens. We will make Fall arrangements. Location: Green Mountain Chapel

Design: The Frost is on the Pumpkin! A line design using fall colored foliage and chrysanthemums or fall flowers from your garden – not to exceed 18” overall.

An Enchanted Evening

Lynn Kuralt of the Crosby House will serve us herbal teas and fresh fruits. Grace Amidon will serve her famous lavender cookies. Grace and Nancy Renaud will give everyone an eye wrap sewed by them. We will fill with rice and lavender, sew up the seam and rest on our eyes. CB from Wilmington a Yoga/Relaxation Instructor will lead us in a relaxation exercise with our eye masks on. You don’t want to miss this delectable and aramaic night.

Holiday Workshop

This is a wonderful evening, an annual tradition and loved by all! Please come and make your own swag or candle arrangement. We are asking that all arrangements be made at the Chapel. No flowers should be removed from the Chapel until they are in your arrangements. Bring your own clippers, containers, or vases you would like to fill. We provide the oasis, cones, bulbs, flowers and greens.

We are asking everyone for a $10.00 donation toward the cost of this event.
