New Horizons, a satellite launched from Earth in 2006, became humanity’s forgotten messenger in the void. After drifting into interstellar space and falling silent, it was unexpectedly drawn into the orbit of Velyra, a planet in the Delta Quadrant whose civilization resembled Earth’s 1800s. Upon its crash-landing, the satellite was hailed as the "Starbringer," sparking technological and cultural upheaval among the Velyrans. Revered as divine by some and condemned as heretical by others, the Starbringer’s remains became the centerpiece of religious schisms, scientific advancements, and devastating wars that reshaped Velyra.
Upon arrival, the crew discovers a world in turmoil. The Starbringer’s crash has upended Velyran society, igniting religious fervor, driving rapid scientific advancement, and fueling violent conflict between factions vying for control.
As the crew assesses the situation, they must navigate the delicate balance between fulfilling their investigative mission and adhering to the Prime Directive, which prohibits interference with pre-warp civilizations. The Starbringer, however, complicates this directive: its human origin has already irrevocably shaped Velyran culture.
