Regine Deforges.

Regine Deforges, was born on 15 august 1935. and is an French author, editor, director and playwright.

She was born in Montmorillion, Vienne, and she is sometimes called the'" High Priestess of French Erotic literature." Regine Deforges was the first woman to own and operate a publishing house in France. Over the years, she has been censored, prosecuted, and heavily fined for publishing "offensive" literature.

One of her novels, La Byciclette Bleue ("The Blue Bicycle"), was published in the year 1981, was France's all time biggest bestseller.

In the year 2000, La Byciclette Bleue was made into a very succesfull television series. It is a great story of love, obsession, and survival, set during the turmoil years of World War II, it developed untill now into a successful series of ten great books. In Regine Deforges homeland France, but also in other countries, it is a very succesfull series of already ten great books, expanding over the years after the liberation of France!

She was formerly president of the Societe des Gens de Lettres de France and a member of the Prix Femina jury.

Regine Deforges lives momentarily in Paris.

Regine Deforges in Nederland.

In het Nederlands zijn helaas slechts vijf delen vertaald: De Blauwe Fiets trilogie en de twee daaropvolgende delen. De Blauwe Fiets trilogie kreeg bij zijn verschijnen in de media in Nederland veel aandacht, maar de twee daarna verschenen delen hebben heel weinig aandacht bij hun verschijnen gekregen, helaas. Hopelijk worden de verdere delen van deze uitstekende serie nog wel in het Nederlands uitgegeven. Anders zijn de Nederlandse lezers helaas aangewezen op de Franse of Engelse uitgaven van Regine Deforges verdere boeken........
