Letters, stars, and emblems will be issued according to the following:
Varsity and Junior Varsity
A chenille letter (Varsity – 6”, Junior Varsity – 5”) with appropriate metal insert emblem (indicating a sport) will be issued to a student-athlete the first time he or she qualifies under established guidelines for each sport.
A metal insert emblem will be issued to a student-athlete the first time he or she qualifies in a second, third, fourth, or more sport.
A star will be issued each time a varsity athlete meets the criteria for lettering the second, third, or fourth time in a sport in which he or she has already lettered.
A metal bar insert will be issued each time a junior varsity athlete meets the criteria for lettering the second or third time in a sport in which he or she has already lettered.
The Student Activities Coordinator will provide each varsity sport with three plaques of the coach’s choice and each junior varsity sport one plaque of the coach’s choice. Make a copy of the athletic awards sheet to make edits.
Lettering Policy
Each coach must have a written lettering policy on file in the Student Activities Office and review with the team prior to the start of the season. Letters should not be given to any athlete unless he or she meets the standards set for lettering at the time of the awards presentation. Certificates of participation are available for all varsity and junior varsity sports upon request of the coach.
