Developing a vision, mission & aims

In 2015, as a team we discussed what is the vision and aims of Belipola. We collected input from Dr. Ranil, we asked for input from Charith and we had several meetings with the staff to collect their input. With the staff we first outlined what this means. Below you will find these details. Please go to the sub-page Vision & Aims to see what Dr. Ranil and the Belipola team have said.

Vision

    • a dream, what you want the world to be.

    • Why your organisation exists

    • a vision of a better world keeps the organisation moving and growing.

Mission

    • How you will contribute to making the dream come true

    • What we are going to do

    • Your sphere of influence

    • Mission is more action focused

Aim (outcomes)

    • Goal or objective

    • What we produce or accomplish

    • Tangible and can be measured (if you can't measure it, you can't accomplish it)

    • Change as we reach milestones

    • Aims should be realistic and based on reasonable expectations

    • Must be able to see it, provides daily satisfaction

Objectives (outputs)

    • more specific

    • how we are going to achieve the aims

One important thing to add is that what supports all these processes to happen, is the core ethics and values of Belipola and the team. Please refer to the front page for the ethics. Core values that we have agreed upon are - restoration, creativity, valuation, community, expression and understanding.
