The staff at Belipola are at the heart of the Center. In this section you will find information relating to the teams at Belipola, their job descriptions, gaps in the whole team and capacity development of the staff.

Hiring of new staff

All staff who work at Belipola have gone through an interview process, with at least 2 managers. The interview questions asked are below.

Field staff are given 3 month probationary period, with 800 Rs per day. After 3 months, their day wage is increased to 1000 Rs per day. All agreements were made verbally.

HHave you worked in teams before?

· Give problem(s) and ask the interviewee to solve the problem - what they would do in this situation

You have been asked by the manager to make some beds ready to plant some vegetables. What would you do, how would you do it, what would plant, when would you plant etc.

· When are you available to start?

· What times are you available to start and finish work?

· Can you work weekends?

· Are you able to work extra hours when there is training?

· Are you willing to work in other areas of Belipola when we need it, such as working in the kitchen or helping with the dormitories?

· What rate of pay are you expecting?
