Humanities Texas Grant
2021-2022

In March 2022, our organization received a Humanities Texas Grant with the endeavor to assist in operational funding for our small museum. The monies provided assistance in paying for utilities, insurance and lawn work in and around the museum. These monies also help with supply costs, temporary labor during the Christmas Tree Forest open house times and helping to fund costs of opening during Halloween. We were able to purchase supplies needed for cleaning the museum, we had a service come into the museum and do a “deep clean” of both floors. The service found areas that needed attention in repairs and this prevented future problems from occurring. We were able to provide needed pest control and termite inspections of the structure. We were also able to update our Website and ensure the previous information was available for all to view. We even created QR Codes of different items in the house that can generate a self-tour when the museum is open for viewing. The $12,000.00 provided by the Humanities Texas Grant went a long way in paying for costs from April of 2021 to December 2022, bills that must be paid for to be able to keep the museum open.

Thanks to the Humanites Texas for assisting our small museum get through another year!!!
