This tab page contains general information about the code version in the upper right. (make sure to always update to the newest version, this is not automatic!)

Benchmark This Computer

The output window already contains vital system information about the current hardware and also about the various model code versions (only of interest to the programmer!).

If [Benchmark this Computer] is pressed, it will run 9 trials (by default, configurable with the numeric control) of the benchmark code and display the results, together with a statistical summary. Each trial consists of three tests as explained in the notes:

The benchmark algorithm is designed to be highly reproducible and fast. The amount of internal computations is automatically adjusted based on the number of virtual CPU cores to ensure consistent results without taking excessive time on slower machines.

The benchmark will not run if fitting is in progress, so make sure to complete the current task first.

The benchmark can be interrupted at any time by hitting the <esc> key.

The first iterations is typically slower due many reasons (e.g. CPU ramping up the clock from idle mode). If the speed drops dramatically at the end, your computer might have thermal issues (e.g. insufficient cooling) and the CPU was stepped down for protection.

Copy Results to Clipboard

Once the benchmark has completed, feel free to press this button to copy the result to the clipboard and e-mail it to me, especially if you have a CPU that is not yet listed in the results. Follow the instructions on the program. Thanks!
