Refinement

Background refinement after fitting

(This step is optional!)

After fitting has completed, it is useful to go back to the background tab and look at the fit. If there is a systematic residual, you can now manually adjust the background to get better agreement. For example if the tail is off, you can move the right blue cursor up or down. If the data bulges up in the center, changing the dimensionality can potentially correct for the non-ideality. Note that the stale fitting data shows in a darker red and will no longer be globally correct, but can still serve as a guideline where the background should be. Once the background has been manually tuned as described, go back to the fitting tab and fit again. Repeat as needed.
