May 31, 2020 Homily by Fr. Karl Schray

The Holy Spirit is like the wind.

We cannot see the wind, but we can see what it does

as it shakes the trees and flies the kites and brings in the clouds

that give us rain. The Spirit works in hundreds and thousands of ways,

to be a gift to us and to help bring us to God.

When people tell me, they are not religious, but they are ‘spiritual’,

I hope it is the Holy Spirit that is guiding them and not a narcissistic spirit.

There are many kinds of spirits and some of them are not the kind

we want to follow. St. Paul tells us:

“when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, the Spirit will produce in us:

love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

It’s no wonder we pray- Come, Holy Spirit, Come.
