History:
Venatus is barely settled though large in its own right. The size is mostly due to the jungle and the need of the Pictus for a large expanse to hunt within. It was settled by sheer chance. The first queen met a strange elf and the elf bade her to rest for bit in a large meadow in the jungle. While resting they spoke and it was revealed she wished to craft a safe haven for all to rest or trade. The strange elf bade her to use the clearing. For a hunter to settle and turn to agriculture he would surrender his dwelling. She protested that she had no desire to cause another to leave his home. He simply smiled and bade her to use his house while she founded her great city.
She founded the city and the ruler always dwells in the house that the city was built around. A seperate building houses the work of the country.
Government:
Currently Queen Theron rules and like all before her she rules with a calm understanding of the local area. Always the royal family looks to the god Taman to help them in figuring out how to work the problems. They have built codified laws and introduced agriculture to the area.
Places of Interest:
The two cities of Venatus are places of wonder. They both hold temples to the three main deities of the country. Both are built with an eye towards maintenance balance with the world. Though everything functions well and smoothly it all built naturally and with barely any impact on the environment
Culture:
The culture of Venatus is still one of Hunters though some also have taken to farming. They have managed to make the hunting and agriculture work together smoothly. Many apply the lessons on how to raise livestock to the local wildlife and the lessons on raising crops to the local edible plants. Thus they have ensured an unending food supply. The people take great pride in their achievements of having cities and agriculture while maintaining their traditional lifestyle.
