History:
Eisigen Norden has seen a change only twice over the course of its long history. When Eisgen Norden was first settled it was by elves, dwarves, and humans. Mostly they formed clans that fought with each other. It was during this time that the first lycan bloodlines became established. The northerners here saw it as a simple expression of the inner beast they released upon the battlefield. Due to this the clans who followed totem animals took in lycans and this in turn led to a country almost exclusively made up lycans or those of lycan descent.
These clans were put to the test when the southern elves invaded the country. At first the elves found the clans easy to conquer due to the lack of alliances and cooperative fighting. This changed when the leader of the Silver Dragon Clan made an alliance with the White Dragon Clan leader. Together the two united the clans and drove the southern elves from the region. This second change led to the tribes electing to allow the two dragon clans leading as rulers of the entire area.
Government:
This is a tribal monarchy. The tribes will support the laws of the country and pay tithes to the ruler. They have their own laws though that they request the ruler to respect. The monarchy handles the affairs of the country as a whole and especially has to deal with foreigners. The ruler keeps a tabs on how his country runs and the various tribal laws. He must be more informed than most as he has to settle disputes between clans and foreigners. Sometimes this is very simple misunderstandings and sometimes this is to keep at bay a full fledged blood feud from breaking out. On the whole it works, but keeps things very interesting in the north.
Places of Interest:
Eislied: The first city within the north. This city was established to allow trade with the south. It is a rough and tumble town. Some refinements do exist, but mostly these are for the visitors. Fights do happen frequently enough that the guard pay little heed. During times when they feel there is no threat they post no guards at the gates. This town has many shops and is the best spot to find rare items for spells and alchemical creations.
It also has an elaborate temple to the Frost King, god of winter and water. He is considered the patron of the country and frequently visits his temple. Its architecture reflects his very complex personality. It is all cool blues with his personal symbol on the courtyard floor and spread throughout the temple. The leader of the temple is an older human woman who is rumored to be a powerful sorceress. The temple guard are among the best trained warriors in the country. The temple teaches anyone who desires to learn and maintains a large library. Breaking into the temple is considered a death sentence as the temple has guardians beyond the ones easily spotted.
Nord Drachen: This place is the Capital and acts as a Port City. It is also the largest settlement in the country
