History:
Praelia was founded by a warrior who only cared for victory. She scorned everyone as too weak and eventually conquered them all, but the cost was greater than her people liked. She had caused many unneeded deaths. After a civil war another female came to rule, but she sought to balance the natural aggression of her people by tempering with laws.
Though many railed against the laws. She calls them the rules the country must abide by. The rules define what you may or may not do right down to avenging one self. She cannily told them that if they abide by the rules then bloodshed that was unneeded could be avoided. She also pointed the many way she included for people to show of their fighting skill within a constructed manner that allowed for the most people to live.
The people settled and found the new laws easy enough to live with as it fit their natural inclinations anyways. Only the centaurs and cervidae sometimes have problems as a few do not mesh with the outlook centaurs and cervidae have in general.
Government:
The Herd Leader rules with strength and cunning. She must use her people's aggression, passion and desire to win to craft an ordered society. She does this by maintaining rules they use to measure themselves against. These rules keep bloodshed to a minimum and allows the country to thrive.
Places of Interest:
Mandra resembles more of a town than city, but the current leader is working to build it up to a city. Her goal is to make it large enough to act as a hub for the country. She also is planning it so she can have a neatly organized city for her descendants to grow up in.
Culture:
As a whole the country is made up of warriors. They have no use for anyone who cannot stand on their own in battle. They are also highly competitive and always pushing to be the best at something. To them only victory matters, but they are gracious when defeated and acknowledge their enemy as the winner. This surprises people as even when defeated they will call their captors great warriors and even more so if they are released.
