Races (most common): Humans, Centaurs, Elves
History:
Altai was founded by a centaur and is still ruled by a centaur. Due to their natural tendencies the whole country is nomadic. The country has staved off Sihai many times to that countries dismay. They finally wrote them off. Since the country also does not ally with others it is considered a non-threat to Heng. Their freedom hinges on the fact they are nomads and skilled with the bow. Also even the humans and elves are supernaturally good with their horses leading to an unbelievably powerful cavalry.
This is all to say basically the history of Altai is shrouded in mystery
Government:
Alaric spends three months of the year at the capital. There he ensures all tributes have been paid and the laws are still just. He also oversees any executions at this time. The law is fairly flexible as it favors justice, but it can be a very rough justice and sometimes a touch cruel. As they are nomads an exile from a tribe or from the country is more common than execution.
Places of Interest:
Ganbataar is constructed of earth and plants. It seems to glow with life and emerald light. It is also fairly open given this construction. Plenty of light streams in and the only time the sky is not visible is during rain or dangerously high winds. The plants then close up to protect the town shedding a green light to allow daily business. Rumor is that the ancient centaur who resides at the court is a druid whose power is only eclipsed by the Grand Druid Akatsuki. She and the Druid frequently confer and walk the city's perimeter.
Culture:
The culture of the country is tied to the land. The clans move constantly with the seasons. Only the war training on horseback and bow training are steadily maintained. Every young adult is a fully trained warrior whether on horseback or on foot. Either way they are a fearsome sight when charging and the treat every battle with deadly seriousness.
Also of note centaur mentality in regards to battle pervades the country. The mentality that a centaur will never back down from a battle or flee has been passed to even the non-centaurs of the country. It is this facet of the centaur personality joined with their fierce desire to keep their lives and freedom their own that has held off invaders along with martial prowess.
