Despite the wintry weather a great crowd came out to hear plant hunter and author Ken Cox talk about his latest book "Scotland for Gardeners" and provide an expert outline of historical developments and key examples from different ages of Scottish garden history up to the present day singling out some of his favourite gardens and gardeners Scotland-wide. Amongst his observations was one sad fact that Scotland is rapidly losing its independent nurseries and growers. He concluded, however, that Scotland has more inspirational, important and glorious gardens per head than any country on earth.
