Garden Day 2014

Post date: Sep 24, 2014 7:24:48 PM

A big thank you to everyone who came to Garden Day 2014 and made it such a success. We made a grand total of £1,479 which after expenditure left us with £915 towards the restocking and renovation of Nurse Peattie's Garden - something we hope all the village will enjoy in the future. Plans and progress on the renovations will be reported on this website over coming months.

We were lucky that after a misty few days at the end of last week the sun shone and we were able to hold our event both indoors in the newly redecorated Williamson Hall and outside. Thanks must go to to everyone who helped on the day and to those who donated items for the raffle and the various stalls. Local businesses were very generous to us and we should like to thank in particular: Branston's, Jamesfield Garden Centre, Gattaway Bed & Breakfast, Let's Cook, Senses Health and Beauty, The Roost Restaurant, Claudia's Squeaky Clean Cleaning company, Fiona's Home Decorations, Berryfields Cafe and Tearoom, and Glendoick for their contributions.

Finally, a thank you to our judge for the various competitions - Alison Messenger. The Courier came along on the day and featured two of our competition winners - Eilidh Donnachie and Ella McElnea in a lovely photograph in their Monday 22nd September edition. We hope everyone who came along enjoyed themselves.
