Dedication of a new bench in Nurse Peattie's Garden

On a fine late September afternoon members of the Abernethy WRI gathered in Nurse Peattie's garden for a short dedication service to celebrate its 85 years (1929 - 2014). Mrs May Dack and Mrs Elizabeth West (pictured sitting on the bench) the two oldest serving members of the group were joined by others. Evelyn Scobie (President) said a few words providing some historical background and the Rev Moira Herkes gave a moving blessing. A celebration tea was held afterwards and featured a special 85th cake decorated in WRI colours by Allison Messenger.
