Recycling Targets for the South West of England had bean set at 75% to be reached by 2007.
Waste to land fill was meant to stop in 2008 and yet it has been extended till 2015.
What all this means for Exeter is that we are still way behind on the set EU Target as Exeter is at a mere 31% as of 2009 the recycling rates reached are still very poor at only at 31%.
That's still a massive 44 % down on Set Targets set by the EU in 2003 that's seven years ago & Exeter still has not even got half way thus loosing The South West Economy over £1 Billion Pounds in EU Grant funding for the South West of England as farmers suffer due to a lack to reach the simple targets that where set "Facts from DCRN's Junk Mail 2003".
Targets set by the EU back in 2003 have still not been met by the South West Council's and local Government in the past seven years & Exeter has still not reached half way to any these recycling league table targets thus losing the South West over a £1 Billion Pounds per year in grant funding.
