We are governed by a Board of Trustees - both Executive and Non Executive. Our current Board of people are elected by our Members every year.

The recycling side offers professional on-site Data Wiping services and computer recycling and use Eraser disk which is certified to the DOD5220.22-M standard. A1 offers the refurbishment of working computer equipment such as, Towers & Desktops, Laptops, apple macs, Keyboards, Mice, TFT Screens, Barcode Scanners, receipt printers, label printers,hand-held Terminals, PDA’s, Mobile Phones, sale and recycling of ink & toner cartridges, sound studio and media equipment to both businesses and the general public.
A1 make a small recycling charge to cover our transport and running cost, A1 is a fully licensed and insured computer re-furbisher, electrical recycler in accordance with the duty of care and Electrical Electronic Equipment legislation.

Where possible, Ink & Toner cartridges are salvaged for parts ones that have passed A1's high quality checks are then separated based on the make, model and condition, for appropriate refurbishment, recycling meaning a 100% zero waste to landfill is achieved.
Once sorted and segregated they are then packaged ready for re-manufacturing and processing and sent to our high quality plant with the ISO 9001/14001 Quality Standard Manufacture in the UK.

The social enterprise is managed by the Managing Director Mr N Wintrip who has been involved in the Electrical, Electronics Recycling and refurbishment Industry for over 21 years.
Mr Wintrip is also the CEO/Director who oversees the company, having previously worked for and managed: A1 South West Communications, South West Satellite, PC’s ‘R’ US UK Ltd and Personal Computer Services.
A1 Positive Recycling, our first operation, was established in March 1997 by Mr N Wintrip in Exeter, Devon. We use acclaimed tools, such as Eurosoft's Test and Diagnostic Solutions and Micro2000 which are widespread throughout the IT industry for all aspects of the PC life cycle. PC-Check is the hardware "testers"choice for DOS-style, core diagnostic software. QA+WIN32 are the preferred Windows-based diagnostic software of service professionals worldwide.
And now? We are following a planned progression from 'project' status to a more commercial and sustainable business operation to become less dependent on grant funding and with your support this is possible.
Here at A1 Positive Recycling Project, we are constantly striving to improve the training, work experience and support provided to our volunteers, community groups - a partnership responsible for our success and vital for our future survival to expand and grow.
