A1 have raised some very important concerns over the Devon waste strategy plan below:
- How Many Devon Residents took part in this Devon wide consultation?
- How Many Exeter Residents took part in this DCC waste Strategy?
- How many people have actually voted on the actions in order for this consultation to take place in Devon by DCC?
- On the EU League tables that where set in 2003 Landfill should have stopped in 2008 so why has Landfill been allowed to carry on till 2015 only to loose the South West a further £1Billion of EU Funding? that's a loss of £8Billion Pounds to the South West.
- Why does the waste strategy plan never mention facts such that it will reach a proper 75% recycling targets in the South West? That's a loss of £8 Billion Pounds to the South West Economy.
- Why has the Tax Paying Public not bean heavily involved with this waste strategy plan by DCC?
- How can a public service such as Devon County Council justify wasting Millions of Pounds to be given the authority to carry out a waste strategy plan without the tax paying public being involved in the whole planning process when it has lost us £8 Billion Pounds in funding to the South West?
- How many people have worked on this consultation and how much money has this cost the Devon Tax Payers?
- The waste strategy plan will never work from the ground up without full public support it will be a complete waste of Devon Taxpayers money and who will foot the Bill for this Strategy?
- Government and Councils take our Taxes and spend them on services without asking the public first.
- Who gave permission to the Council's to spend our Taxes in this way?
- We believe the statistics are of volumes "collected for recycling", and these are wildly inaccurate if used as "being recycled".
- We do not know of any statistic gathering which separates the amount of material (authenticated) leaving a recycling facility and definitely going to a recycling mill as against the amount leaving to go to landfill.
- We believe the landfill sites DO have to record volumes received (for landfill tax, e.g.), but not by source.
- Mingled recycling collections contaminate a significant proportion of the materials which were otherwise clean enough to recycle, but through the collection process of compacting clean with soiled, and different types, (which always contain rubbish) can now only go to landfill.
- We DO know that the weights collected by the companies are recorded as recycling collections.
- Please note that the total in column 5 of Table 4 is incorrect. The total comes to 666,000 tonnes going to landfill, a percentage of 24%.
- The Waste Strategy Plan is inaccurate and very misleading and does not hold true.
- We have found that most recycling materials collected by Exeter City Council alone is transported and then shipped to be put on waste sites in third world countries as currently documented on the BBC and Channel 4.
- Why are we being mislead and constantly lied to by County and City Councils with inappropriate and false figures that currently do not hold true?
- Here in the UK we currently pay £77Bilion pounds per annum to the EU so why should the British Tax Paying Public believe what we are currently told by UK Government & Councils?
- We can not trust any public servant that does not tell the British Public the truth and in this case of the Devon waste strategy plan why do we see this happening all over again?
