Climate change is not just a global issue that will affect future generations in other parts of the world - it is happening now, and some of its effects can already be felt in Devon.
We all contribute to climate change through our use of electricity, heat and vehicle fuels, and there are actions that we can all take - as individuals, as householders, at school and at work - to cut the emissions that contribute to climate change.

Present effects of climate change
The effects to date in the UK include higher temperatures, more frequent extreme weather events (such as storms and heatwaves), more frequent flooding (from rivers, the sea, and following storms) and rising sea levels – relative sea level in the South West of England, recorded at Newlyn, has risen by 15cm since 1915.
