The Lanyard

The Lanyard was the weekly publication of the 751st Field Artillery Battalion started in June of 1945. The National Archives in College Park Maryland had these 11 issues in the files with the 751st FABN records. Whether more were published after the 11th issue is unknown at this present time. These have some really great stories about the battalion and its men and provided some much needed news to the GI's from home and the war in the Pacific and the occupation of Germany.

The following soldiers were instrumental in the publishing of the Lanyard:

Lt. Lee C. Cornelius HQ Battery (Business Manager)

SSgt Francis Corsale HQ Battery (Sports Editor)

Cpl Vincent Mazza A Battery

T/5 William J. Barron A Battery

PFC Richard Stevens B Battery (Editor)

T/4 John J. Morton HQ Battery (Editor)

Note: (The photo quality here is not the greatest as the papers were folded and there was not time to flatten them before photographing. Every attempt was made to adjust perspective problems and to crop as best as possible.)
