Appendix July 1945

During the period 1st to 31st July 1945 the Battalion was stationed at Neuhof, Kreis Fulda, Germany and continued the mission: Occupation and Security of assigned area. Members of the Battalion who were not used in the security of the area followed a training schedule.

During the period the Battalion received official orders citing the unit for participation in Campaign Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe, thereby entitling members of unit to wear four Bronze Service Stars.

Beginning 0430 21 to 0430 23 July 1945 inclusive the Battalion conducted a security check and search operation of Battalion area. This was known as Operation Tally-Ho.

Result of Operation:

Approximately 23,000 German civilians were checked for proper identification documents and all buildings in area were checked for contraband.
