Danny Capewell, Elaine McDermott and the Accomodation Office Team
After the announcements of exam results and clearing, the Accommodation Office team has a huge task to allocate and confirm accommodation bookings. The software used didn't work as expected; therefore, Elaine and Danny had the task of identifying and rectifying the issue, as well as manually allocating over 4,500 students into accommodation.
Due to their dedication, the new incoming students' journey wasn't disrupted, and thankfully, we look forward to a smooth transition into our Accommodation next month.
Great effort from the teams and managers.
– Adam Miles, Accommodation and Commercial Services
Philip Graham
Thank you for the great work you did in setting up for the Open Day on 6 September. Particularly with issues around seating, and having to set up later than expected the day before Friday.
– Shaun Adams, Faculty of Science Student Recruitment Hub

Our guests were touched to have been invited and the media attention continues to promote the cause. Thank you!

FM Services Team within ACS
Student move out day this year was Sunday 14th July. Our teams had to clear out the flats, deep clean, resolve maintenance issues and then make up beds ready for hundreds of students with the Access Groups coming to University of Sheffield just 3 days later.
This is a huge task every year but with the heat that these teams were working in that week they really did an amazing job! An additional thank you goes to our campus colleagues who came up to help us this year, collaborative working at its best!
– Becky Rossiter, Accommodation and Commercial Services

Everyone who's been involved with the undergraduate offer holder days
We'd like to give a huge shout out to everyone who's been involved with the undergraduate offer holder days held over four Saturdays, February-April. We have received incredible support from many, many colleagues in faculties and schools, estates, security, ACS, the SU, the Octagon, IT services, Sport & Physical Activity, the Library, all the student service teams that participate in our exhibition, and of course, our fantastic colleagues in MARC. Thanks to this amazing team effort, we have welcomed just shy of 5000 offer holders to our campus and received some glowing feedback from our visitors. We look forward to working with you all again for our pre-application open days this summer/autumn.

Andy, Nick and Darren from the Mappin Facilities Assistants team, and Julia from the Broad Lane cleaners
We’d like to give a massive shout-out to Andy, Nick and Darren from the Mappin Facilities Assistants team, and Julia from the Broad Lane cleaners, for their incredible help in making the MAC University Teachers’ move to Broad Lane go so smoothly.
Not only did they manage to move everyone a day early, they also made sure the office was cleaned during the gap — all without a single complaint, despite the sheer amount of stuff and the general carnage!
We genuinely couldn’t have done it without them, and we’re so grateful for their support, flexibility, and good humour throughout the process. Thank you!
– Buick, Jonny, Nick, Paul, Rachel, Richard and Helen (Faculty of Engineering)
Estates team who have been doing an amazing job of cleaning up the entrance to Cathedral Court
I'd like to give a shout-out to the estates team, who have been doing an amazing job of cleaning up the entrance to Cathedral Court. This is very much appreciated by staff and students who use Cathedral Court. Thanks!
– Jen Hague, Psychology
Jordan Martin, Denise Richards and Simon Dixon
I'd like to give an extremely well deserved shout-out to Jordan Martin (Dainton Porter) and Denise Richards (MPS). Without both of you and your good humour, there would have been no chance of delivering such a successful LightFest event in mid March. Every vital order placed and processed quickly; every box, crate, equipment and bizarre "help" requests meant we could build and deal with every hurdle. I truly valued your help and advice throughout. My thanks also to Simon Dixon and Technical MPS colleagues for their amazing feats of exhibit engineering and building at short notice.
– Christina Metcalfe, School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences
Colleagues involved in setting up the "Listen to this Story!" exhibition
hout-out to all the people that gave their time and effort to support setting up the exhibition "Listen to this Story!" in Jessop West Foyer, on Black British children's literature. I'm also really grateful to the friends and colleagues in the building who pitched in with setting it up - Nozomi Uematsu, Mike Prentice, Yookyeong Im and Leesa Spence. I truly appreciate the kindness, patience and generosity they all gave to make time to help me with this.
Thanks to all their help, the exhibition looks fabulous, and it's already being put to use as a superb resource for students.

For all their help and hard work in creating an interactive toilet display as part of the newly opened Special Collections exhibition about the poet Roy Fisher at Western Bank Library.
