March 2025 - this page is currently under development - check back for the first EFM Health and Safety Newsletter in April
Health and Safety is an integral part of all our roles across EFM. We have many eyes and ears across the university through our daily work, allowing us to identify risks before they lead to incidents. Reporting near misses is a key priority for us. Reporting enables us to foster a strong safety culture, ensuring that unsafe conditions do not go unchallenged. It is not about assigning blame. Reporting near misses can prevent some accidents from occurring.
We can all report near misses via the Accident, Incident and Near Miss Reporting System.
Teams are encouraged to share significant health and safety learnings identified in their areas. Learning points can be shared with:your team’s Health & Safety Officer - list available here - EFM is within “Finance, Infrastructure and Commercial Services Group”.or Akhil Sunny, our EFM Health and Safety Manager.
We’ve created a new Health and Safety page on the EFM intranet which will be developed over the coming months. We will include this dedicated Health and Safety section of Team Brief every month and we’ll be issuing a EFM Health and Safety newsletter every other month from April.
By working together, we can continuously enhance safety awareness and best practices across all EFM operations.
