IF YOU'RE AGED 16-18
You must be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August 2025.
(If you turn 19 during the year, you can still get support until the end of that academic year.)
You may be able to get help from:
Vulnerable Young Person Bursary
Discretionary Support Fund
Free Meals (credits or vouchers)
Care to Learn (for childcare support)
IF YOU'RE AGED 19+
If you're 19 or over on 31st August 2025, you could still apply for:
19+ Discretionary Support Fund
Advanced Learner Loan Bursary
20+ Childcare Support Fund
These are for students on ESFA-funded courses, to help with costs like travel, equipment, or childcare.
UNIVERSITY LEVEL STUDENTS
Most uni-level students get funding through Student Finance,
but extra support may be available if you’re from an under-represented group.
You might get help with:
Travel to and from college
Course resources (equipment, uniform, books)
Trips, visits, and residentials
There's no age limit for this fund – it’s open to all HE students who meet the criteria.
