Child Benefit Letter

A letter from HMRC confirming that you receive Child Benefit – and the child(ren) you receive it for – this must be dated within the last 6 months.

Child Tax Credit

A letter from HMRC conforming that you are in receipt of Tax credits. You will either be receiving any of the following combinations;

Working Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit

Child Tax Credits Only

We will need to see the Tax Credit Awards for 2025/2026. 

The document is usually 6 to 8 pages long. We will need to see all pages

Universal Credit

Universal Credit 

If you or parents/guardians are employed – we will need to see three most recent full statements, to average out the income.

If you or parents/guardians are not employed – we will need to see the most recent statement (only 1 statement required). 

You will have to click on the ‘print this statement’, located on the top right hand side of your Universal Credit portal. You can then print off the statements or you can save as PDF and send to us at student support fund. 

PLEASE REMEMBER TO PROVIDE ALL PAGES. THIS IS USUALLY 2 OR 3 PAGES LONG
