Artic and RAF STEM careers visit to SGLA
This module we have seen Careers Week/Month take place in March with all students engaging in specific career activities during tutor time including the nationwide virtual careers fair. STEM students in Y10, 11, 12 and 13 were invited to a presentation with Artic and the RAF to discuss career opportunities with their company and organisations. Artic Building Services is a leader in Hard Facilities Management across London and the Home Counties. They offer a comprehensive suite of technical and engineering solutions, ensuring the smooth operation of your Mechanical, Electrical, and Hard FM Plant. Together with representatives from the RAF, they explained how they also work in collaboration with the RAF to sponsor the motor racing they participate in. They even brought in the car to show and further explain how they build and race it to our students!
Refocus with Lennox Rogers and Year 7
Lennox Rodgers is the co-founder and CEO of Refocus Project, an intervention and prevention crime, drugs and violence charity and we are fortunate to work alongside his charity with our own students. Lennox provided our Year 7 students with a workshop related to the realities of gang culture and how children need to be aware to look out and after themselves and how they can stay safe by making the right choices. The students enjoyed this interactive session, enjoying the question and answer section at the end, where students were mature and inquisitive making the session even more enjoyable!
