This module Curie College welcomed Miss Jones as our new Student Support Officer to work alongside Miss Read and Miss Senior in our college office. Miss Jones has already worked with a number of students to support them in their learning and has already proven herself to be a great asset to the team.
Year 11 students have been working hard towards their GCSE exams which start in May. They have already completed their second round of mock exams. Parents and carers attended a Final Countdown event to hear last minute tips and advice from subject leads. We anticipate high attendance for the Easter holiday revision sessions and wish all year 11 the best of luck in the next few months ahead.
The Modern Foreign Languages Learning Area combined forces with Cucina to provide Year 9 students with a free breakfast as part of their international cultural experience. Students were invited to the restaurant to order breakfast in either French or Spanish (whichever language they currently study). The array of food included croissants, crêpes au chocolat and des gauffres.
Elis in Year 9 took part in the team event at the British National Gymnastics Competition in March. The team came a respectable eighth in their category and in their previous competition managed an impressive second place. Congratulations to Elis and her other team mates on their success.
A big well done to Precious in Year 8 who has completed the 50 bookmark reading challenge! She has been rewarded with a certificate, chocolate bar, tokens and an L5.
Curie won the literacy trophy last academic year and we have big hopes of retaining that trophy again this year too.
