How was your trip?

Cuban is one of those places where you have to see you in order to believe that it's real. In the media, Cuba is painted as a place where people are afraid to say anything and they live in a constant of fear. During this trip, we found that this was not the whole story. Many Cubans held their tongue for no one because they are proud to be from Cuba. They preserve their culture in the food, music, and daily activities. From Afro- Cuban dances to citizens going to the Malecón at night, everyone was proud to be a Cuban. I went in with a very different mindset than what I left with. Cuba has inspired me to look beyond my own world of the United States and realize that people with a different way of living can be just as happy. I encourage everyone to travel to Cuba and experience not just the beautiful weather, food, and music, but to talk with the cubanos.

Thank You!

This experience was life changing. It only happened because of the many generous donation made by our family and friends and strangers! This trip has inspired me to return to Cuba to reshape my future plans. I now want to be able to fluently speak Spanish and travel around all of Latin America and experience the different cultures they have to offer. I would have never even thought about doing that if I had not gone on this trip. Again, Cuba was life changing. Thank you, everyone!
