How was your trip?

Cuba is breathtaking, it is a must see for everyone. Everyone needs to go to and see it for themselves to experience the magic firsthand. There's nothing more amazing than witnessing real people, thriving in a world that isn't your own. It hasn't been commercialized and isn't overrun by capitalism. It's a functioning socialist society, and they're doing so many things right now that the U.S. could stand to take a lesson form, like their amazing healthcare and education systems. There's so much culture and beauty to be absorbed and I think it's important to see it before the embargo is lifted and big business floods its shores. While the embargo has caused a lot of problems, the innovation of the Cuban people is beyond inspiring and keeps the country running. Cuba is alive and kicking despite what we're being told in the U.S. Despite Cuban and U.S. relations the people are happy and welcoming, they want to get to know us the same way that we want to get to know them. And again, that's not the image we've seen of Cuba. You have got to go! The weather was amazing!

Thank You!

I would like to give a big thank you to everyone who contributed to our trip. You don't know how much this experience meant to the teachers and girls who were able to go, myself included. I would also like to thank everyone who spoke to us during our trip, all of the authors, artists, officials of healthcare and education, really made a difference in our experience. We were able to see the best version of Cuba because of all the people who were willing to speak to us about their country. I'd especially like to thank all the teachers, Srta. Manuel, Ms. Sessa, Ms. Jonas, Ms. Diane, and our tour guide Yoseti, who went with us and ensured that we saw what Havana had to offer.
