Mid Workshop Interruption

Built into the independent work time, a mid-workshop teaching point is a method designed to help refocus and move readers forward by extending the work from the mini lesson or by reminding students about ongoing habits.

During independent work time, teachers take note of any misconceptions or signs that the students are ready for something more challenging. If either of these situations present themselves, the teacher will use the Mid Workshop Teaching to redirect students, reteach something that was commonly misunderstood, or extend the work that students are doing. The teacher uses the mid-workshop interruption as an opportunity to build on and revise prior teaching
