The first members of Team 54 to meet the Red Carpet were EDIE & TALIA, on hand for the Opening Night Film, "A Mosquito in the Ear". The cast and filmmakers were in attendance at the U.S. premiere of the movie, as well as folks from other films.

About playing the father in the film he said "...what it means to navigate that when you really care about this other person and their well-being and what's best for them."
Reporters EDIE & TALIA spoke with actor NAZANIN BONIADI, who discussed her work on the opening night film, "A Mosquito in the Ear".
"What was impactful?" Edie asked. "Living in another person's shoes".

About adapting a graphic novel into the film he said "...when I fell in love with the graphic novel, I had to ask myself 'what is the part of this that I actually, you know, that I actually love and want to say?'"

About kids their age might take away from the film she said "...I would say the main takeaway is that you have to show up every day with the kind of love and empathy that gets you to the next day."
Reporters TALIA & EDIE got time with Producer ALI RIZVI and his daughter NISSA about aspects of working on the opening night film, "A Mosquito in the Ear".
Asked what makes a good movie, ALI responded "... something that people can relate to, understand, and then by the end of it, leave feeling like something inside of them has been touched, and that allows them to go out and change the world, right...[which Nico & Naz & Jake]...did in this project..."

When asked about the differences between performing as a songwriter and an actor, CHARLEY responded with "Well... God dang it, you got... Those are the best questions on the whole line!" before coming up with a thoughtful answer.

After speaking eloquently about the new Film Center and the festival, When asked about the film he was most excited to see, he responded with "I'm a horrible film watcher because I eventually get out there. I'm the guy, when you're sitting there with your family, and they're poking the guy that's snoring, and that's me."

When asked about why he writes, DHAFER responded with "It's about bringing people together. It's about showing that we're all the same, that we have the same dreams."

When asked about writing the script, NAT said that the book's author supported her, and "...whenever I thought it was too hard, I just thought, I can't let it go."

When asked about what viewers of the reporters' age should take away from the film, MICHELLE said that although it was a road trip and a comedy, "...they're also kind of exploring the concept of death, and how one gets used to the idea of death, and how one interprets it.
So, I think that was what we wanted everybody to take away."
