On Tuesday night, February 10th, reporters CORAL & TALIA were in the press line for the Outstanding Directors of the Year Award. They got the opportunity to speak with honoree CHLOÉ ZHAO, and her film "HAMNET". Chloé was generous with her time, and answered three questions from the team.
When asked how child actors affect a scene, she responded "I think children actors are usually really present...So if a child actor is not feeling the scene, and then they are not giving us what we want, we usually listen, because they're more in their bodies, and they're more present, and they're more truthful. So they actually are great to have on set."
On February 10th, at the red carpet for the Outstanding Directors of the Year, reporters CORAL & TALIA got to speak with ELLEN BRADLEY, subject of the documentary "UNTETHERED: A WILDLY DIFFERENT NORMAL".
When she was asked what she learned during the film, Ellen replied "...to never give up on a dream. This film has taken almost a decade and many doubted and many questioned, like, 'What are you doing?' And I always saw the vision, and I forged forward no matter with, like, resilience and trust in my vision, even if nobody else believed in it."
On February 10th, at the red carpet for the Outstanding Directors of the Year, reporters CORAL & TALIA got to speak with AYMIE MAJERSKI, director of "UNTETHERED: A WILDLY DIFFERENT NORMAL".
When she was asked what kids their age might learn from and take away from the film, she answered "I would want you to know that it's okay to be yourself, always. Even if somebody else thinks it's weird. Be yourself, follow your heart, follow your dreams, be true to yourself."

On February 10th, at the red carpet for the Outstanding Directors of the Year, reporters CORAL & TALIA got to speak with STEPHEN NEARY, writer/director/animator of the film "LIVING WITH A VISIONARY".
When he was asked about what important thing he learned during the 4-year process of making the film, Stephen said "There's a Chinese poem in the film that translates to 'life is like morning dew,' which kind of means life is brief and beautiful and strange and it's over. And I felt very grateful to sit with that message and really feel it while I drew these, like, thousands of drawings in my shed and watch my family grow up."
