Here MADDIE gets to talk with EJAE, being honored for original song from the film
"K-POP DEMON HUNTERS".
When asked how she relates to her character Rumi, part of her response was "...I think with Rumi, it's her whole idea of, her character of like, she's a perfectionist, she's kind of a workaholic, and she wants to keep all her shame inside. I relate to that a lot, because I do that a lot, and it's not a good thing to do."
Here ELLA gets to speak with ANDY JURGENSEN, being honored for editing for the film "ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER".
When asked how he manages to keep a fast pace in the film, ANDY replied "This movie has a lot of moving shots...the camera's moving... So you want to use that momentum that you capture, and then kind of try to match that to the next take with that same energy."
Here ELLA gets to speak with MIKE HILL, being honored for makeup for the film "FRANKENSTEIN".
When asked what the most fun aspect [of makeup] to figure out for a film, MIKE replied "It's the design stage is really nice, you know, because you're trying to come up with something original and something new." He added some personal history, saying "...as...a child again who used to sculpt these monsters from clay as a kid and finally get to recreate the Frankenstein's creature on Jacob for a Guillermo del Toro movie, I mean, it's as good as you can get."
Here MADDIE gets to speak with KATE HAWLEY, being honored for costume design for the film "FRANKENSTEIN".
When asked about her design strategy for the film, KATE replied in part, "...we went away from reality to a heightened language, and tried to keep the idea of dreams and memory as the leading tone, the atmosphere of it all."
Here MADDIE gets to speak with ADOLPHO VELOSO, being honored for cinematography for the film "TRAIN DREAMS".
When asked about how he used natural light for the film, ADOLPHO replied in part, "I feel like it helps the audience to feel connected to the emotions, everything feels more real in a way."
Here MADDIE gets to speak with CHRIS WELCKER, being honored for sound mixing for the film "SINNERS".
When asked about his collaboration with actors for the film, CHRIS replied in part, "...when somebody's able to actually perform in a way that sounds worth using in the end, it's a really unique opportunity for somebody in my position."
Here ELLA gets to speak with two representatives of the film "CALIFORNIA SCENARIO", director JAMES TAKATA, and actor JON HUERTAS.
When asked about what challenges and rewards come from filmmaking, JAMES talked about the community aspect. "I think for me, and for a lot of our cast and crew, to be able to just do the thing that we love, which is make art together, helped us to get through some of that challenge."

When asked how the film might reflect the school's theme for this year ("Because of them, us. Because of us, them"), MINNIE reflected that "I think, because of the sacrifices that these incredible women made, like, I get to stand here, I get to chase my dreams...hopefully I get to, you know, keep paving a way to tell the kind of stories that I hope we get to tell."

When asked how their film might reflect the school's theme for this year ("Because of them, us. Because of us, them"), WILL reflected that "...in this movie, we, how we've lived our lives have affected our kids, and we, in this movie, there's a moment where we stop, and our kids force us to look at them, and them to look at us."
Here ELLA gets to speak with two representatives of the film "FIL-AM", writer/director RALPH TORREFRANCA, and actor HUNTER STIEBEL.
When asked about what they learned from being part of the film, HUNTER talked about the Filipino-American and Filipino cultures. "it was such a family environment from the moment I stepped on set...then every time that we come together, there's...a cozy, fun, familial vibe that I was immediately invited into, which was awesome."
Here ELLA speaks with producer SUE CREMIN and director ERIC SIMONSON from the documentary
"GOING FOR HOME".
When asked about what they look for before making a film, ERIC said that "We didn't know what we were going to have once we started shooting this film, but it turned into what I think is a very interesting story, in which you learn some lessons, or sort of like, take some solace from the wisdom of kids like this."
