Remote Learning 20.21

Go back in time to the one-room schoolhouse and then fast forward to the technology of right now and you have the JGS Remote Cohort.

We learn in our own spaces with personalized learning plans and come together in multi-age small and large groups. We follow our passions and practice our skills.

Mrs. Kristin Groves is the JGS Remote Teacher for all grades - K through 6th.

April 19-23 Pleain Air Art Event

Hello!

Next week is our Plein Air Residency with Melanie Levitt! If you are receiving this email, it means that we are thinking your child will be participating...please let me know ASAP if I am mistaken about this! Here are the details you need to know.

The Artists will be Melanie Levitt and her assistant Pearl.

The face to face teacher will be at the session.

Mrs. Scribner will be there for some of the sessions, but not all.

I will be there for the K/1 art session.

Here is the schedule. Please make note of your child's time 2 times. Plan to drop off about 5 minutes before the start of the session and pick up promptly.

MONDAY, April 19 & WEDNESDAY, April 21

9:30am - 11:15am Grade K/1 Art Session

12pm - 2pm Grade 2 Art Session

TUESDAY, April 20 & THURSDAY, April 22

9:30am - 11:30am Grade 5/6 Art Session

12pm - 2pm Grade 3/4 Art Session

FRIDAY | April 23

2:30-3:30 The Whitney Center will be open to Remote Families for artwork viewing.

You can drop your child off with Ms. Susan at the front of the school. She will walk them over to the blacktop area, where the painting is happening.

This event will be held on the blacktop rain or shine. In the event it needs to be cancelled due to downpour, Friday will be used as a make-up day. Kids should be dressed for the weather. Be aware that they are using Acryllic Paints, which are not washable.

Pack a water bottle and a pocket snack. Kids will be masked and 6 feet apart but will take off their masks to eat snack and drink water. They will be in their own personal space when this happens.

Please have your child use the bathroom before coming to the school. If they need a bathroom break, they will be walked into the school to use the hallway bathroom.

I think this is all you need to know for now. Let me know if you have any questions!

Kristin
